Trump Warns Tehran to Evacuate

THE WAR ROOM: President Trump yesterday left the G-7 summit in Calgary early to go back to Washington to deal with the Iran-Israel war. The conflict in which the two countries are pounding each other with missiles and drones is in its fifth day.

Israel has been pressing the US to enter the war and drop what’s called a “bunker-buster,” the 30,000-pound Massive Ordnance Predator, on Iran’s deeply buried nuclear equipment. The  bomb is the only one that could take out Iran’s Fordo nuclear site and it must be delivered by an American B-2 bomber.

Trump has declared that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon and yesterday warned ominously on his Truth Social that, “Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!” as if he plans to drop a nuke.

Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, signaled openness to resuming talks with US about curtailing his country’s nuclear development program.  Asked at the G-7 summit in Canada about Iran returning to talks, President Trump said, “They should talk immediately before it’s too late.”

Israel struck and appears to have destroyed the headquarters of the Iranian state broadcaster while they were live on the air. An anchorwoman draped in black was seen retreating from the desk and photos later showed the building fully engulfed in flames. Iran said programming was “briefly halted” but “returned to normal” within a few minutes.

Israel also said that its air force yesterday was striking missile infrastructure in western Iran. Israel appears to have nearly complete control and dominance over Iran’s airspace. The streets of Tehran were clogged with the cars of residents fleeing to the countryside.

Asked at a news conference whether Israel is seeking regime change in Iran, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dodged the question saying, “We are changing the face of the Middle East, and this could lead to far-reaching changes within Iran itself.”

In an interview with ABC News, Netanyahu was asked whether targeting Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, would escalate hostilities, he answered, “It’s not going to escalate the conflict, it’s going to end the conflict.”

HIT LIST: The man accused in the shootings of two Minnesota legislators and their spouses on Saturday also lurked near the home of two other legislators that day, the investigators revealed.

Vance Boelter, 57, is accused of murder under both state and federal law for the killings of former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark.

Investigators say they found Boelter’s list of about 70 targets including politicians, civic leaders, abortion rights advocates, and Planned Parenthood centers. The elected officials on the list were all Democrats.

Other targets found in a vehicle linked to Boelter included politicians from Minnesota, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, and Wisconsin

CASH AND CARRY: As they continue to cash in on the presidency, the Trump organization announced that they are launching their own mobile phone service at $47 a month and will be offering a “sleek, gold” US-made smartphone.

Speaking in the customary superlatives, the President’s son, Eric, said, that Trump Mobile would “revolutionize cellphones” and help create “one of the great tech platforms … of any company in the world.”

Like something nobody’s even seen before …

TRUTH AND CONSEQUENCES: Fired ABC News correspondent Terry Moran told the NY Times he’s not sorry about the social media post that cost his job in which he called President Trump and deputy Chief of Staff “world class” haters.

Moran said he was home on a Saturday night. “I was thinking about our country, and what’s happening, and just turning it over in my mind.” After a family dinner and a movie, his kids were in bed and then, “I wrote it, and I said, ‘That’s true.’”

Moran was fired for crossing the lines of professional journalism … taking a side or expressing an opinion, however true.  “I don’t think you should ever regret telling the truth. And I don’t,” Moran said.

POWER PLAY: Duracell, the company with the copper-topped batteries, is suing Energizer, the battery maker with the bunny, claiming that Energizer is making false advertising claims about Duracell’s battery life.

Energizer’s new ad campaign says that its Energizer MAX batteries outlast Duracell Power Boost batteries by 10 percent. Duracell claims the ads have caused the company to suffer “irreparable reputational harm, including the tarnishing of its brand and loss of goodwill.”

This is like Coke suing Pepsi when everyone knows which is better.

THE SPIN RACK: Russian drone and missile strikes on the Ukraine capital of Kyiv killed 14 people overnight and wounded about 100. — The judge in the sex-trafficking and racketeering trial of music man Sean “Diddy” Combs dismissed a male juror saying he had “serious concerns as to the juror’s candor.” Evidently the juror was not honest about where he lives. — Kraft-Heinz, the maker of such junk food staples as Kool-Aid, Jell-O and Mac & Cheese, announced that it will eliminate chemical dyes from its foods over the next two years. In April, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., said he had reached “an understanding” with food manufacturers to remove commonly used artificial food dyes from their products by 2026. — Former New Jersey Sen. Robert Menendez, 71, goes to prison today to starts serving an 11 year sentence for his corruption conviction. — A federal jury in Denver yesterday found that MyPillow founder Mike Lindell, who spread conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election, defamed a former employee of Dominion Voting Systems and ordered Lindell to pay the man $2.3 million in damages.

BELOW THE FOLD: Joey Chestnut, the professional hotdog gobbler who was banned from the Nathan’s Famous contest on Coney Island last July 4th because he had endorsed vegetarian hotdogs, is making a return this year. He has won the repulsive contest 16 times.

“It’s a cherished tradition, a celebration of American culture, and a huge part of my life,” Chestnut said.

It’s also a big part of his diet.

It's Been Said

"Christians, get out and vote, just this time. You won't have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what, it will be fixed, it will be fine, you won't have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians. I love you Christians. I'm a Christian. I love you, get out, you gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don't have to vote again, we'll have it fixed so good you're not going to have to vote."
