Trump Claims Democrats Will Cheat

ELECTION WATCH: President Trump is dispatching 1,000 observers across the country to monitor next Tuesday’s vote as he and the Justice Department continue to cast doubt on the honesty and integrity of elections. Repeatedly on the campaign trail Trump has claimed the only way democrats win is by cheating.

The administration has demanded that states turn over voter lists, sued to block voting by 20,000 registered voters in California, and filed pre-emptively to negate the Alaska vote if the incumbent Republican candidate loses by a narrow margin.

The President and DOJ have support out there in the digital world. The Washington Post reports that: “Nearly 600 high-profile, right-wing social media accounts, podcasts and other online media have published more than 7,000 statements questioning the election’s integrity so far this year,” and, “That messaging has, in particular, pushed overstated claims that noncitizens are on voter rolls and that mail-in ballots enable widespread fraud.”

The current average of polls has Trump’s overall disapproval  rating at 60.1 percent. The betting markets have Democrats picking up five senate seats.

Trump has been dismissing the financial pain Americans feel but affordability is a fundamental issue. The Washington Post also reports that, “Six in 10 families can’t afford the basic cost of living in the battleground districts that will determine which party controls the House.”  The paper says, 19 of the 21 toss-up districts have become less affordable.

TEE TIME: President Trump announced that over public objections, lawsuits, and a court order he is closing the East Potomac Golf Course in DC on November 15th to re-make it into a championship level course.

He wrote on his Truth Social that, “We believe this Project is totally ‘as of right,’ and that the judge does not have the Constitutional Right to ‘ask for or receive notices,’ which are time-consuming, unnecessary, expensive, and unconstitutional.” What he means is that he has rights of ownership over the golf course operated by the National Park Service.

Trump wrote that, “The Development of this World Championship Public Facility must begin, immediately, if it is to be completed in a timely and seasonal manner,” probably meaning while he is still President.

Trump’s plan would combine the park’s existing 36 holes into one high-end 18-hole championship layout. It would take over the entire peninsula, eliminating the perimeter road, bicycle and walking trails, picnic areas, playgrounds, and mini-golf facilities used by the public.

The President wrote, “In its current form, the Course is extremely dangerous to play, in that the narrow and nondescript fairways are far too close together, leading to a constant barrage of people being hit with wayward shots, and the echoing throughout the air of the word, ‘FORE!’”

THE COUNT: With votes still being counted there is no clear winner in Israel’s national elections although Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has a slight lead. But his opponent Gadi Eisenkotcould put together a ruling coalition in the parliament.

30 MINUTES: Ratings for CBS’s “60 Minutes,” one of the most successful broadcasts in television news, have fallen by nearly half under the interruptive leadership of executives Bari Weiss and Tom Cibrowski.

The season premiere in 2025 drew 10 million viewers but the episode last Sunday had at most 5.7 million viewers. Weiss and Cibrowski last spring fired three veteran reporters and the executive producer to demonstrate who’s in charge at CBS News … and it shows that they are.

THE BOYS OF LATE OCTOBER: The Milwaukee Brewers lost a chance to sweep the World Series, falling to the Tampa Bay Rays 3-2 last night. Game five is tonight with Milwaukee leading 3-1.

INFINITE SCROLL:

— A federal grand jury yesterday declined to bring charges against Cassidy Hutchinson, a first-term Trump White House aide who gave damning testimony before Congress about internal workings regarding the January 6th insurrection. The effort to indict Hutchinson for perjury was driven by Harmeet Dhillon, a Trump loyalist who has turned the DOJ civil rights division into tool of the Trump agenda.

In her testimony Hutchinson had described Trump as a man willing to do anything to hold on to power and the presidency.

— Speaking at a Michigan campaign event in support of Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers against Abdul El-Sayed, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said, “There’s 500 million Arabs in the world, and yet they don’t produce — they don’t win the Nobel Prize, they don’t win the Field prize, they don’t win the Wolf Prize. They don’t produce literature.”

A spokesman for El-Sayed said, “It’s rich to have an anti-scientist come to Michigan to lecture a doctor with two doctoral degrees who has spent his entire career working on public health.”

THE SPIN RACK: At least 30 people are dead today in the collision of two high speed trains in Spain. — The prolific rapist Alexander brothers, Tal, 40, and 39-year-old twins Oren and Alon were each sentenced yesterday in federal court to 30 years in prison. The former high-end real estate brothers were convicted of drugging and raping their victims. Judge Valerie Caproni  said multiple victims had described the brothers as “sadistic, masochistic, sexual predators.” — The US says it will issue visas to defeated right wing Brazilian presidential candidate Flávio Bolsonaro and his family amid reports that he has left the country. Bolsonaro, an ally of President Donald Trump, has refused to concede even though he lost to incumbent Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva by more than four million votes. — Investigators through DNA have linked another victim to serial killer Ted Bundy, who is believed to have murdered at least 30 women and girls in multiple states in the 1970s. The body of  17-year-old Melissa Ann Smith was found by a hunter in Utah in 1974. Bundy was seated in Florida’s electric chair in 1989.

BELOW THE FOLD: Rapper Jay-Z announced that he will headline the 2027 Super Bowl halftime show. Let the culture bickering begin.

It's Been Said

"Christians, get out and vote, just this time. You won't have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what, it will be fixed, it will be fine, you won't have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians. I love you Christians. I'm a Christian. I love you, get out, you gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don't have to vote again, we'll have it fixed so good you're not going to have to vote."
