No Confidence: In the meltdown over exiting the European Union, British Prime Minister Theresa May’s own party has called for a vote of no confidence. She could be out by the end of the day, leaving Britain without a prime minister.

Speaking in front of 10 Downing Street, May said, “I will contest that vote with everything I’ve got.” But even if she survives the vote, she is considerably weakened.

Real Housewives of Pennsylvania Avenue: In a bizarre debate that played out in front of reporters and cameras in the Oval Office yesterday, President Trump told Democratic leaders Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer that he’ll shut down the government if he doesn’t get his border wall.

“If we don’t get what we want, one way or the other, whether it’s through you, through our military, through anything you want to call, I will shut down the government,” Trump said in a sometimes heated exchange.

Trump said, “I am proud to shut down the government for border security.”

At times the exchange was like a school yard argument.

It was supposed to be only a photo op of Trump sitting down with the Democrats. More than once, Pelosi suggested that the conversation should be carried on in private. Trump said, “It’s not bad, Nancy; it’s called transparency.”

Trump wants at least $5 billion for his southern border wall and doesn’t have the votes to get it. The deadline for keeping the government running is Dec. 21.

Trump opened the meeting with a rambling preamble about how much of his wall has already been built. “A lot of wall has been built,” he said, repeating a fiction he posted on Twitter. He said, “We don’t talk about that, but we might as well start, because it’s building — it’s being built right now, big sections of wall. And we will continue that.”

Congress has appropriated no money to build new sections of border wall. On Twitter Trump said, “If the Democrats do not give us the votes to secure our Country, the Military will build the remaining sections of the Wall.”

Google It: During a hearing on Capitol Hill yesterday a Democratic congresswoman asked Google’s chief executive for clarification of how the search engine works. Rep. Rep. Zoe Lofgrenof California said, “If you Google the word ‘idiot’ under images, a picture of Donald Trump comes up. How would that happen? How does search work so that that would occur?”

Well, you just type in “idiot.” And in fairness to the President, pictures of his sons Don Jr. and Eric also pop up.

It's Been Said

"In my mind, I’ve never crossed the line with anyone, but I didn’t realize the extent to which the line has been redrawn. There are generational and cultural shifts that I just didn’t fully appreciate, and I should have, no excuses."
