IN BRIEF: We’re taking the day off … maybe even tomorrow too.
But … Melania Trump revived the Jeffrey Epstein controversy issuing a statement out of the blue denying that she had close ties to the late sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein and calling on Congress to allow victims to testify.
Speaking in front of cameras, Mrs. Trump said, “I am not Epstein’s victim. Epstein did not introduce me to Domald Trump.”
Melania is mentioned in the Epstein files but her denial of being a victim only raises questions.
“I have never had any knowledge of Epstein’s abuse of his victims,” she continued. “I was never involved in any capacity.”
“Epstein was not alone,” Mrs. Trump said. “I call on Congress to provide the women who have been victimized by Epstein with a public hearing specifically centered around the survivors. Give these victims their opportunity to testify under oath in front of Congress.”
And, in maybe the most dangerous phase of the moon shot, the Orion space capsule is on schedule to splash down later tonight.
That’s it for today.
