Pipeline Cleanup, DA Murdered, Cheese Heist

National: Exxon Mobil is already working to clean up thousands of gallons of oil that leaked from the Pegasus pipeline in Mayflower, Ark. The line carries heavy Canadian crude to a refinery in Texas. This spill feeds the debate over the proposed Keystone pipeline, which would carry Canadian tar sands oil to refineries in the Gulf coast.

  • A North Texas district attorney and his wife were found murdered in their home two months after an assistant DA from the same office was shot to death on the courthouse steps. Mike McLelland, 63, and his wife, Cynthia, 65, lived about 25 miles east of Dallas. Investigators say they have to treat this case as possibly related to the still unsolved murder of Asst. DA Mark Hasse on January 31.

It’s Easter: Pope Francis prayed for peace.

Madness: The Syracuse defense held Marquette to just 39 points in a 55-39 win for the Orange and advancing them to the Final Four. In a closer match, Wichita State upset Ohio State 70-66. Today, Michigan goes against Florida and Louisville plays Duke. NY Times statistical prognosticator Nate Silver, who called the presidential election dead on, predicts Louisville will beat Michigan in the final. Amateur bracketeer Barack Obama called for Louisville v. Indiana in the final match, but the Hoosiers were knocked out by Syracuse.

Say Cheese: An Illinois man was charged this week with stealing 42,000 pounds of Muenster cheese. It's Been Said

"In my mind, I’ve never crossed the line with anyone, but I didn’t realize the extent to which the line has been redrawn. There are generational and cultural shifts that I just didn’t fully appreciate, and I should have, no excuses."

-Andrew Cuomo, resigning as governor of New York after accusations of sexual harassment
