Trump University Politics, Payday Percentage

University Politics: Forget policy. The presidential race is now about character. Hillary Clinton has weaponized the information released from the Trump University lawsuit. Clinton said of the court documents that, “This is just more evidence that Donald Trump himself is a fraud.”

Clinton punched Trump where his nose is: business. “Trump and his employees took advantage of vulnerable Americans, encouraging them to max out their credit cards, empty their retirement savings, destroy their financial future, all while making promises they knew were false from the beginning.”

Trump fought back on Twitter posting, “Crooked Hillary Clinton is a fraud who has put the public and country at risk by her illegal and very stupid use of e-mails. Many missing!”

Last night in California, Trump called Clinton a liar, striking at both her and her husband. “These are crooked people. They’ve been crooked from the beginning.”

Trump also threw an elbow at President Obama, whose speeches have become increasingly political. Trump told a crowd, “Our leaders are stupid people, I’m telling you. They’re stupid, stupid people, led by our president, if you call him that.”

Job Loss: The PGA announced that it is moving its World Golf Championship from a Trump-owned course in Florida to Mexico City next year. Presumably they can move it before Trump builds his wall.

The PGA said the decision was financial, not political. Trump told Fox News host Sean Hannity, “I hope they have kidnapping insurance. But they’re moving it to Mexico City. And I’m saying, you know, what’s going on here? It’s so sad when you look what’s going on with our country.”

Nation: UCLA was flooded with cops and under lockdown yesterday after a student killed a professor and then himself. As police determined whether there was still an active shooter, some students were lined up, kneeling on the sidewalk with their hands up.

The murder victim was William Klug, an associate professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering, and a married father of two young children.

>Former Special Prosecutor Ken Starr, who haunted President Bill Clinton over his sexual improprieties in the White House, has resigned as chancellor of Baylor University in a scandal over sexual assaults on the campus. Starr had said he was unaware that the university had a big problem with sexual assault. He will remain as a professor of law.

Payday: The Obama administration is expected today to announce new regulations for the $38.5 billion payday lending industry. About 12 million people use the paycheck-to-paycheck loans that can end up costing 300 percent annual interest.

The Obit Page: Janice Crouch, who with her husband Paul preached “The Gospel of Prosperity” on the Trinity Broadcasting Network, has died at age 78. Crouch, with her starched hair frosted pink, was one of the more recognizable of the early television evangelists. Their show was called “Praise the Lord.”

The Crouches founded Trinity and told their followers that a donation to their television ministry would be paid off in divine riches. The riches were certainly divine for the Crouches, who owned several homes, including his- and-hers mansions in Newport Beach, Calif. Paul Crouch died in 2013.

Generation Zero: Elizabeth Holmes, once reputed to be a billionaire after founding the blood testing company, Theranos, is now rated as a zero-naire by Forbes Magazine. The 32-year-old Holmes, a rare female in the testosterone-fueled world of tech startups, was attempting to eliminate expensive blood tests performed in a laboratory with a procedure done with a single pinprick.

Forbes says the company is now worth about $800 million rather than $9 billion, and that the way Holmes’s shares are structured, she barely has a dime of value in the company.

It's Been Said

"Christians, get out and vote, just this time. You won't have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what, it will be fixed, it will be fine, you won't have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians. I love you Christians. I'm a Christian. I love you, get out, you gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don't have to vote again, we'll have it fixed so good you're not going to have to vote."
