Three’s Company: A third accuser says Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was present at parties in the 1980s where girls, including herself, were drugged, made drunk, and gang raped. Julie Swetnick, 55, says she saw Brett Kavanaugh on a line with other boys “waiting for their ‘turn’ with a girl inside the room.”
Kavanaugh said, “This is ridiculous and from “The Twilight Zone.”
Swetnick has worked for several federal agencies and has held a variety of security clearances.
President Trump compared her story to accusations made against him, which he has claimed are all false. “People want fame, they want money, they want whatever. So when I see it, I view it differently than someone sitting at home watching television.”
There are also fourth and fifth accusations floating around out there from so-far anonymous complainants, one of them a man speaking for a female friend.
Swetnick is a client of attorney Michael Avenatti, who represents the porn actress Stormy Daniels in her lawsuit against President Trump. Neither he nor his client have offered evidence to support the story.
Swetnick says in a signed statement that she saw Kavanaugh and his high school buddy Mark Judge at 10 parties where there was heavy drinking and sexual misconduct including “not taking ‘No’ for an answer.”
She describes Kavanaugh’s “physically aggressive behavior toward girls, including pressing girls against him without their consent, ‘grinding’ against girls, and attempting to remove or shift girls’ clothing to expose private body parts.”
Christine Blasey Ford, the first woman to accuse Kavanaugh, is scheduled to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee today. She has already provided written testimony that says, “Brett’s assault on me drastically altered my life. For a very long time, I was too afraid and ashamed to tell anyone the details.” She says, “I tried to convince myself that because Brett did not rape me, I should be able to move on and just pretend that it had never happened.”
Trump, who has called all the accusations a Democratic “con job,” said, “I’m going to be watching, you know, believe it or not.” He left open the possibility that he would withdraw Kavanaugh’s nomination. “If I thought he was guilty of something like this, yeah, sure.”

It does not include money for Trump’s borer wall, but he says he’ll sign the bill anyway. — Saying the economy is strong, the Fed raised interest rates by a quarter point and suggested there may be another rise in December.
Passing Gas: As Earth heats up, Arctic permafrost is melting, releasing more global-warming methane into the atmosphere. The melting surface tends to create small lakes and The Washington Post reports on a scientist who has found a lake that is releasing so much methane that it appears to be boiling.
The story says thatKatey Walter Anthony saw that “Some bubbles grew as big as grapefruits, visibly lifting the water’s surface several inches and carrying up bits of mud from below.” In effect warming speeds up warming. She said, “These lakes speed up permafrost thaw. It’s an acceleration.”
Egg Roll: Without offering evidence, President trump speaking at the United Nations yesterday accused China of meddling with the fall elections in retaliation for his trade tariffs. “They do not want me or us to win because I am the first president to ever challenge China on trade, and we are winning on trade — we are winning on every level,” Trump said. “We don’t want them to meddle or interfere in our upcoming election.”
Later at a news conference Trump claimed the Chinese have intentionally attempted to harm American farmers. “We have evidence,” Trump said. “It will come out. I can’t tell you now. But it didn’t come out of nowhere. That I will tell you. They’ve actually admitted that they’ve gone after farmers.”
How was Your Flight?:Have you noticed that every time the airlines conduct a satisfaction survey the seats get smaller? The House has approved a bill that would set minimum size requirement for airline seats. Maybe they should just require airline executives to fly coach.
