Manifesto of Hate, Keep Scrolling

The Great Replacement:Shortly before his attack, the El Paso gunman who killed 20 people with an assault rifle posted a rambling online manifesto about immigrants, corporations, race mixing, and even Democrats. “This attack is a response to the Hispanic invasion of Texas,” the manifesto says.

President Trump, who has described the migration over the southern border as exactly that … an “invasion” … said yesterday that “Hate has no place in our country, and we’re going to take care of it,” promising to say more today. He ordered flags lowered to half-staff.

This morning the President was blaming the media. He tweeted, “Fake News has contributed greatly to the anger and rage that has built up over many years. News coverage has got to start being fair, balanced and unbiased, or these terrible problems will only get worse!”

He also suggested “marrying” gun legislation with immigration reform.

The document posted by Patrick Crusius, 21, also says“The Democrat party will own America and they know it. They have already begun the transition by pandering heavily to the Hispanic voting bloc in the 1st Democratic Debate.” President Trump also has warned that the Democratic party is a danger to the United States.

Among the people Crucius killed were a young husband and wife shielding their infant who has just dropped their 6-year-old daughter at cheerleading practice.

Authorities say Crusius will be charged with a hate crime. In his manifesto Crucius goes on tocite a white supremacist theory known as “The Great Replacement,” which has it that a secret group of elites is working to destroy the white race by replacing them with immigrants and refugees. He wrote, “Our European comrades don’t have the gun rights needed to repel the millions of invaders that plaque [sic] their country. They have no choice but to sit by and watch their countries burn.”

In Dayton, Ohio, the killer of nine people at a nightclub has been identified as24-year-old Connor Betts, of Bellbrook, Ohio. He used a .223 caliber assault rifle fixed with a high capacity magazine and wore body armor. He was killed by the police within 30 seconds of opening fire, but murdered nine people first, including his own sister and her boyfriend.

The reaction from the White House and Republican leaders has been tepid, both about guns and the rise of white supremacy in mass shootings. A NY Timeseditorial says, “If one of the perpetrators of this weekend’s two mass shootings had adhered to the ideology of radical Islam, the resources of the American government and its international allies would mobilize without delay.”

The Obit Page:Nuon Chea, known as “Brother No. 2” when he served as Pol Pot’s chief lieutenant during Cambodia’s murderous Khmer Rouge regime in the 1970s, has died at 93 while serving a life prison term. Nuon Chea was considered one of the chief architects of the regime’s plan to restructure Cambodia into an agrarian society. They emptied the cities and killed the educated, ultimately resulting in the deaths of  an estimated 1.7 million people through executions, starvation, disease, and overwork.

He never admitted he did anything wrong. “I wasn’t a war criminal,” he told The Associated Press in a 2004 interview. “I admit that there was a mistake. But I had my ideology. I wanted to free my country. I wanted people to have well-being.”

Press “Like”: This past week freshman Sen. Josh Hawley, a Missouri Republican, introduced a bill that would ban “addictive” social media features. It’s called theSocial Media Addiction Reduction Technology, or SMART, Act.

The bill says its intent is to “prohibit social media companies from using practices that exploit human psychology or brain physiology to substantially impede freedom of choice, to require social media companies to take measures to mitigate the risks of internet addiction and psychological exploitation.”

The bill would limit the “infinite scrolling” feature on websites, requiring users to refresh the page more often. We found this story while scrolling through a bunch of stories on our iPhone.

It's Been Said

"Christians, get out and vote, just this time. You won't have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what, it will be fixed, it will be fine, you won't have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians. I love you Christians. I'm a Christian. I love you, get out, you gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don't have to vote again, we'll have it fixed so good you're not going to have to vote."
