Diving Dow: The Dow Jones is slightly down again this morning after a 353-point drop yesterday. A kneejerk selloff followed the Fed announcement that it will start raising interest rates later this year. That made for a 556-point dive in two days. Markets also reacted to word that Chinese banks were becoming reluctant to loan to each other, a sign of economic slowdown. The Chinese government eased credit today.

Exodus International was based on the belief that people choose their sexual orientation rather than being born with it. Critics said the treatment didn’t work and could actually do harm. The group was also up against increased acceptance of homosexuality and gay marriage.
The Obit Page: The NY Giants great punter Dave Jennings died of effects of Parkinson’s disease at 61. His “coffin corner” kicks that went out of bounds just feet from the goal line changed how punters are judged. After Jennings, kickers were evaluated not just for length of kicks, but also for how close they pinned the opposition to their own goal.
