Nation: Authorities in the New York area yesterday rounded up 71 people accused of possessing and swapping child pornography images. The suspects include a small town police chief, a New York City cop, and a mother believed to have produced sexual images with her own child. James Hayes Jr., head of the New York office of Homeland Security Investigations said, “Reasonable people cannot fathom such depravity,”
The Girls: Eighty American military personnel, mostly Air Force, are being sent to Chad to help with the searchfornearly 300 school girls kidnapped by Muslim militants in neighboring Nigeria. A White House notification to Congress said, “These personnel will support the operation of intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft for missions over northern Nigeria and the surrounding area.” Predator drones will be used for aerial surveillance and electronic snooping.
A Pentagon official told a House committee, that the girls may have been split up and, “They may or may not all be in Nigeria.”
The Predator crews are in addition to 30 civilian and military exerts already in Nigeria helping to search for Islamic militants and their captives. This is often how it starts.
World: Powerful explosions in a busy market in the Xinjiang region of China killed at least 31 people and wounded 94, according to Chinese officials. Witnesses say the attackers drove Land Cruisers through the crowd, throwing explosives. One of the attacking vehicles exploded, they said. Photos posted on the Internet showed bloody vendors and customers down on the street amid fruits and vegetables. The attackers are believed to have been Uigher separatists, who are becoming increasingly bold.

People Get Ready: Climate change threatens both the quantity of food produced and its quality, according to a new report from the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. The report says food producers will have to find ways to farm and raise animals in extreme heat, drought, and floods. “Adaptation must begin now,” the report says. “Developing the necessary scientific breakthroughs and broadly disseminating them will require years, even decades of lead time.”
Feedback: eBay has advised all its customers to change their passwords after their customer database was hacked. The company says only passwords and not financial information were compromised.
Fair and Arrested: Fox News weekend anchor Gregg Jarrett spent a few hours in the tank after being arrested drunk at noon in a Minneapolis airport bar. The 59-year-old Jarrett l went on leave last week to handle personal problems. He must be worried about the Benghazi investigation.

A second bull gored the second matador, and was quickly dispatched by a third matador, who, in turn, was gored.
