Time to Grow Up:Jeffrey Epstein, the New York billionaire with a taste for underage women, is being charged with sex trafficking, several news outlets report.  Epstein is reported to have been arrested and is in federal custody. 

Over the years he has been friendly with former President Bill Clinton, and Andrew, the Prince of York from Britain’s royal family. Donald Trump said in 2002, “I’ve known Jeff (Epstein) for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”

  Epstein had previously pleaded guilty to lesser charges in Florida of soliciting prostitution, served 13 months in a county lockup, and registered as a sex offender. A doorman told The NY Post  that beautiful young women visited Epstein’s apartment at all hours.

Malled:Twenty-three people were injured yesterday when a south Florida mall blew up. None of the injuries are likely to be fatal. The nature of the explosion and the damage tend to indicate that it was a gas explosion, but the cause has not been officially determined.

Inept:In a series of leaked memos published in The Daily Mail, Britain’s Ambassador to Washington described President Trump  as “inept”, “insecure”, and “incompetent.” Writing to the prime minister, Sir Kim Darroch, one of Britain’s top diplomats, warned that the White House was “uniquely dysfunctional” and that the President’s career could end in “disgrace”. 

  In one message, Darroch writes: “We don’t really believe this Administration is going to become substantially more normal; less dysfunctional; less unpredictable; less faction riven; less diplomatically clumsy and inept.”

Reclamation:President Trump is on the attack against his primary Democratic rival for the presidency, former Vice President Joe Biden. Trump tweeted, “Joe Biden is a reclamation project. Some things are just not salvageable. China and other countries that ripped us off for years are begging for him. He deserted our military, our law enforcement and our healthcare. Added more debt than all other Presidents combined. Won’t win!”

  Joe Biden was never President.

The Cup:The US meets Holland today in the final of the women’s World Cup soccer. While the Americans have appeared to be on an inevitable march to the top, Holland has been growing in strength in recent years. They won the European championship in 2017.
