Trump in Hospital With Coronavirus

Like You’ve Never Seen Before:  Just 24 hours after being diagnosed with the coronavirus, President Trump was helicoptered last night to Walter Reed Medical Center where he is being treated for Covid-19. The White House says he has low-grade fever, congestion, and a cough.

He is being treated with the experimental drug Remdesivir.

Some news reports say the President was moved to the hospital out of caution before he may have become unable to walk. They didn’t want a picture of him brought out on a gurney.

The White House released a brief video made before the President got on the helicopter in which he said, “I think I’m doing very well, but we’re going to make sure that things work out.”

CNN’s Brian Stelter says, “The best information we’re getting about the president’s condition, right now, is coming from anonymous sources who are leaking to reporters.”

Added to the positive list from the White House is adviser Kellyanne Conway. She joins the President, Melania Trump, and Hope Hicks. Three reporters who cover the White House have it.

Bill Stepien, President Trump’s campaign manager, tested positive. Ronna McDaniel, the Republican National Committee chairwoman is also positive. Over on Capitol Hill, Republican Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina, and Sen. Mike Lee, Republican of Utah, have the bug as well. Both are members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which would hold hearings on the new Supreme Court nominee.

Vice President Joe Biden and his wife Jill are reported to have tested negative for the coronavirus as well as the President’s son, Barron, White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, Jared Kushner,  and Ivanka Trump.

At this point, you have to be very careful about what you believe out of the White House. Hours before the President went to the hospital, Mark Meadows said, “He continues to be not only in good spirits but very energetic.”

While the President was getting sicker, Meadows came out to the press talking about, “A great jobs report this morning,” attempting to divert attention from one of the most important events in the world, the President of the United States falling ill with a disease that has killed nearly 209,000 Americans. Fifty-three thousand new cases were reported yesterday.

The White House is being shifty about what they knew, and when they knew it. The President continued campaigning after his close adviser Hope Hicks fell ill.

A reporter asked Meadows, “What day and time did you find out that Hope Hicks and tested positive and did you just sit on it until after the president went out to his fundraiser in New Jersey? Meadows replied, “Actually, as we look at this, I’m not going to get into the tick-tock.”

Debatable: The crisis with the President calls to question whether the vice-presidential debate will proceed as scheduled on Wednesday, and whether the Senate will be able to hold confirmation hearing for supreme Court Nominee Amy Coney Barrett.

The debate commission says the candidates will be spaced further apart … Trump and Biden were only seven feet … and Senate leaders say that if it’s necessary, some members can participate and vote remotely.

They’re Fired: The Labor Department reports that the economy added 661,000 jobs in September, a disappointing number for the Trump administration heading into the election. The unemployment rate is 7.9 percent, down from 8.4 percent in August.

Since March, just shy of 54,000 million Americans have lost their jobs since the onset of the pandemic, but millions have also gone back to work.

The Obit Page: Bonni Lou Kern, an original Mouseketeer who appeared on the first season of the popular Disney children’s show ‘The Mickey Mouse Club,’ has died at 79. — Timothy Ray Brown, known as the “Berlin patient” for being the first person believed to have been cured of HIV infection, has died of leukemia at age 54.

Thanks for the Meme-ories: The internet immediately exploded with memes ridiculing the President for coming down with a disease he’s been scoffing at. One has a nurse hooking up the President to an IV drip of Clorox. Another makes fun of both Trump’s illness and his tax returns. It says his pre-conditions are that he’s 74, overweight, and poor.

But … Facebook, Twitter and TikTok say wishing for Trump’s death will not be allowed.

It's Been Said

"Christians, get out and vote, just this time. You won't have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what, it will be fixed, it will be fine, you won't have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians. I love you Christians. I'm a Christian. I love you, get out, you gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don't have to vote again, we'll have it fixed so good you're not going to have to vote."
