Trump and Women, Hyper Transport

Trump Girls: In a long story dissecting Donald Trump’s complicated relationship with women, The NY Times says the presidential candidate has fawned over women, chased them, adored them, reviled them and objectified them. The paper says its story presents “a complex, at times contradictory portrait” of Trump.

The story begins with an anecdote about Trump meeting a woman at a party in his Florida home and immediately demanding that she change into a bikini.

The Times bases its story on 50 interviews with former employees, friends, and girlfriends, as well as written accounts and court records. The paper reports that, “Their accounts … reveal unwelcome romantic advances, unending commentary on the female form, a shrewd reliance on ambitious women, and unsettling workplace conduct.” The report goes on to say, “The interactions occurred in his offices at Trump Tower, at his homes, at construction sites and backstage at beauty pageants. They appeared to be fleeting, unimportant moments to him, but they left lasting impressions on the women who experienced them.”

The story says, “Some women found him gracious and encouraging,” but he once said to an overweight female executive “You like your candy.” It goes on, “But in many cases there was an unmistakable dynamic at play: Mr. Trump had the power, and the women did not. He had celebrity. He had wealth. He had connections. Even after he had behaved crudely toward them, some of the women sought his assistance with their careers or remained by his side.”

It's Been Said

"Christians, get out and vote, just this time. You won't have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what, it will be fixed, it will be fine, you won't have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians. I love you Christians. I'm a Christian. I love you, get out, you gotta get out and vote. In four years, you don't have to vote again, we'll have it fixed so good you're not going to have to vote."
