Republicans Back Obama on Syria

Syria: Two leading Republicans said it would be a disaster if Congress votes against President Obama’s resolution to attack Syria for using nerve gas. Sen. John McCain and Sen. Lindsay Graham met with the president yesterday. McCain said failure to approve the resolution “would undermine the credibility of the United States of America and the president of the United States. None of us want that.” The two senators suggested that Mr. Obama may have some serious plans in hand. McCain said, “We have been given some reason to believe that very serious strikes may take place as opposed to cosmetic.”
