  • The family of a 10-year-old Pennsylvania girl who received an adult lung transplant in an exception to transplant rules, kept secret that their daughter required a second set of lungs only days later. The first set failed within hours. Janet Murnaghan, the girl’s mother, said Friday that the family was told their daughter would die. They kept it secret because they didn’t want to suffer the loss in public. Sarah Murnaghan is now said to have taken a few breaths on her own with a second set of adult lungs.

It's Been Said

"In my mind, I’ve never crossed the line with anyone, but I didn’t realize the extent to which the line has been redrawn. There are generational and cultural shifts that I just didn’t fully appreciate, and I should have, no excuses."

-Andrew Cuomo, resigning as governor of New York after accusations of sexual harassment
